Terms of use: Pomona free grower tools
Last updated: October 25, 2026.
These terms cover the free calculators at pomonasystems.com/tools (the "tools"). They're run by Pomona Systems, LLC, Putney, Vermont. Using the tools means you agree to these terms. Your Pomona account, if you have one, is covered by the Pomona terms at app.pomonasystems.com.
The answers are a starting point, not a recommendation
- The tools work out sprayer, rate and calibration numbers from published formulas and the figures you type in. Each answer shows how it was worked out and which extension or manufacturer source it came from.
- The pesticide label is the law. Where the label and a tool disagree, follow the label, including its rates, its per-acre maximums and any limit on how concentrated a spray may be.
- Nozzle flows are the manufacturer's rated flows for new tips spraying water. Real sprayers differ: worn tips, the pressure at the nozzle compared with the gauge, and the mix itself all change the output. Check your sprayer with a calibration before you rely on any answer.
- Where a page says "Sample flows, not for spraying", the flows on it are placeholders and must not be used to set up a sprayer.
- You're responsible for how your sprayer is set up, what goes in the tank and what goes on your crop.
No warranty
The tools are free and provided as they are, with no warranty of any kind, including that the answers are accurate, complete or fit for your purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Pomona Systems, LLC isn't liable for any loss or damage from using the tools or relying on their answers, including crop injury, crop loss, residue violations, fines or equipment damage.
Fair use of the tools
You're welcome to use the tools as often as you like for your own farm, your clients or teaching, and to print and share the results. Please don't:
- copy the tools, or rebuild their calculations or nozzle tables from their answers;
- query them by script, bot or scraper, or try to get around the rate limit;
- put them, or their answers in bulk, in another product or service.
Requests over the limit are refused, and Pomona may block anyone who misuses the tools.

Privacy: what the free tools record
The tools need no account and set no cookies. There's no Google Analytics and no outside tracker.
When you open a tool, use it, print it or click "Try Pomona free", or when a request is refused for going over the rate limit, Pomona records:
- which tool, what kind of visit, and when;
- the numbers and fixed choices you entered (GPA, row spacing, nozzle family and the like); never anything you type as free text;
- the website that sent you, by domain name only, and any campaign tag in the link;
- your region (state or province, or country outside the US and Canada) and country, worked out on Pomona's own server from your IP address;
- a visitor code made by scrambling your IP address with a key that changes every day. It lets Pomona count visitors within a day. Each day's key is thrown away, so after that day the code can't be matched to your IP address or linked to your visits on other days.
Your IP address itself is never stored, with one exception: when a request is refused for going over the rate limit, the IP address is kept for up to 7 days so Pomona can stop scraping.
Records are deleted after 13 months. They're used only to see how the tools are used and to improve them. They're never sold or shared.
If you sign up for Pomona from a tool, your account notes which tool you came from. Everything else about your account is covered by the Pomona privacy policy at app.pomonasystems.com.
